Cyra glanced up as she sat on one of the sofa's in the girls room, the sun had just started to rise. She should get back to sleep, seriously. Yet she'd woke up suddenly about 10 minutes ago, and something was itching at the back of her mind. It was the slight wanting of food though, that had urged her to come downstairs.
She'd slipped into the kitchen, having spotted some ginger biscuits in one of the cupboards earlier on. She also poured herself a glass of water, why not. As she went to return to her dorm though, she'd spotted her sketchbook on one of the tables. She'd left it there for some reason. Walking over, she her biscuits and water on the table beside the book and picked up the pencil that was beside it. She'd been drawing in her free time, hence the reason for the landscape taking shape on the page.
Cyra flipped onto a blank page and then pencil met paper. After about 10 or so minutes of quick motions with her hand, she saw what had been bugging her since she woke up... staring back at her from the sketchbook. Cyra frowned at it, "looks like I have an interesting imagination." she muttered to herself.
The image was some sort of bird-thing swooping down from the sky somewhere in the grounds. It was freaky - it looked like some sort of person... except it had black wings and unpleasantly sharp looking talons. One of the fledglings watched it come, watching from the ground. He certainly didn't look too happy, scared even. Cyra munched a biscuit as she pondered this.

Karima missed the days when she could go weeks at a time without being pestered by some poor fool's spirit or what have you. She'd only gotten half an hour's worth of sleep this time, and the past week hadn't been much better- some days she got no sleep at all. And that was making it very hard to keep up with her classes. Even caffeine had its limits. The hazel-eyed fledgling yawned tiredly as she trudged down the hall to the dorm lounge. The only thing good about being nocturnal was that one could watch standard programming instead of adult swim when sleep was rendered impossible. This time, it had been the spirit of a fledgling that had died in the room next to hers a few years ago. Obviously, someone was rather attached to the room, and didn't care that the body had long ago been cremated and the ashes returned to the family. Kari groaned at the thought as it passed her mind- the ghost itself wasn't anything special, but it had one hell of a story. And Kari was wary of trying to go back to sleep, mainly because she did not want another nightmare. Waking up screaming was a great way to get on the bad side of every other fledgling in the dorm, no doubt about it. She was surprised to find that she wasn't the only sleepless one that night, but paid no mind to the fledgling drawing in a sketchbook while she retrieved a cup of coffee from the kitchen. Caffeineeee...... said the part of her mind that was still half asleep. The other parts paid no mind to it and Kari returned to the lounge and plopped down on one of the sofas.

Cyra's eyes flicked up as Karima entered and a little later sat down on one of the sofas nearby her, but she didn't really pay any mind to it. She was more focused on perfecting the image before her until there was no difference between the two aside from colour.
Soon it was finished, and she put down the pencil and picked the drawing up, holding it in one hand while she took another ginger biscuit from the plate on the table and bit into it. She leant back into the chair, frowning as she chewed her biscuit carefully.
Someone might think she was frowning because she was unhappy with the image, but Cyra was just confused by it. - What the hell is that thing?.. - The words ran through her head, bumping into the edges of her mind and returning like echoes.
It was then she reckoned she may as well try and be social, "Couldn't sleep, I guess?" Cyra asked the girl after swallowing, her eyes not moving from the object of the majority of her focus. The image.

Karima focused intently on her nice, warm cup of coffee, taking long, slow sips of it in the hope that slower consumption would also mean more time until the inevitable caffeine crash. But when she heard a voice, her exhausted mind immediately went into defensive mode. But a quick, cursory glance around the room answered the silent question and she relaxed, noticing that the speaker was, indeed, alive, if only for the present moment. "I wish," Kari remarked dryly, her tone cold and discouraging further conversation. "I'd like to see you try to sleep with ghosts yammering on and on in your brain twenty-four-seven."

Cyra stayed silent for a few moments, and then dropped the sketchbook, allowing it to fall back onto the table. It was obvious that she was not going to figure out the picture anytime soon. It was probably nothing.
She smiled wryly at Karima's comment. "Unfortunately I cannot say that I have had the experience, I'm sure it makes for an interesting night." Her sarcasm was most likely not missed. Her eyes flicked to the fledgling in the picture as she reached for another biscuit. He looked familiar... but she put it out of her mind. It was nothing.

"Oh, like I haven't heard that one before," Karima retorted. "Believe me, it is not something you want to put up with." She didn't deign to add that Alaine had offered to hunt down a vampyre with a similar affinity to teach her to block out the voices. It probably wouldn't do much for her side of the discussion, at any rate. She paused, then abruptly changed the subject, speaking in a slightly calmer, quieter tone. "So. What're you drawin'? Anything interesting?"

Cyra smiled at Karima's retort, she doubted she would want to put up with such a thing - hence her sarcasm. When she was asked about the picture she had been working on, she frowned suddenly, not because she was unhappy - but because the image itself still confuse her. She didn't tend to go into the macabre and meld things together. "Try confusing, actually... but it's just some bird-thing... nothing special, I guess..." she muttered looking away.
She pushed the image over to Karima with a deft flick of her fingers, allowing it to slide a distance closer to her - it stopped half a metre from her coffee - at a diagonal, so there was never any danger of a collision. "but take a look at it if you want, it's not like I'll stop you."

Karima took another sip from her coffee and picked up the drawing with her free hand, studying it. After a few long minutes, she remarked, "Huh. That looks just like... eh. Confusing is right. I had a ghost stalking me, like, all day a week or two ago, and it keptt ranting on and on about a thing that looked just like this." Surely the other fledgling was smart enough to realize that Kari had been given a sketchy memory along with the mindless chatter. She had been wishing that the ghost was fresher and retained more of its memory, but this drawing was much clearer than the faint, murky memory she had been shown. Hmm. Now this is a regular conundrum, she mused. Noticing the rest of the drawing at last, she questioned, "That's a fledgling, I can see that, but who is it?"

Cyra shrugged, "I don't know. He looks familiar, but I've probably seen him somewhere around at school." she said quietly. She had been interested when Karima had mentioned the instance with the ghost telling her of something similar, though. - So maybe it isn't nothing after all. That, or it's just some crazy coincidence. -
After a few moments of staring at the image of the fledging, she was positive she had seen him, but couldn't place the name. Besides, it was just the face that looked familiar. Lots of fledglings had dark hair.

Chloe Hawkins - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Chloe let out a yawn covering her open mouth with the back of her hand. Blinking, she swung her feet out of her bed shivering slightly as her feet touched the cold floor. Well, supposedly fledgling werent supposed to be affected by the cold so maybe it was just habit to act like she was cold when her feet touched the floor. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Chloe scanned her room. Clothes were everywhere. Jeans covered her desk and shirts scattered the floor. I really need to clean up. She muttered mostly to herself. Pushing upright she swiftly glanced down at what she was wearing. Imagine walking down to the kitchen with some holy sweats on. Not that Chloe had an nasty grungy sweats in her mess of clothes. Slipping out the door she hopped down the stairs, her slippers squeaking on the steps.
Slipping into the kitchen, Chloe noticed two other fledgling already awake."Hey." She let loose another yawn covering her mouth once more. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -muse;; Not bad for;; open comments;; none outfit;; Pjs!

Karima snorted. "Um, duh, it's a fledgling. Unless he's dead (which isn't possible, because no fledglings have died since last June), it's a fledgling here in Rochester." The hazel-eyed fledgling yawned and took another long sip of coffee, wishing the caffeine would simply kick in and wake her up already. She then proceeded to ignore the new voice, past caring whether it was alive or not, and more interested in staying awake long enough to figure out the identity of the mystery fledgling. "Y'know, that could be any number of guys," she remarked eventually. "We have no shortage of dark-haired, male fledglings... is there anything you can see that might be a more unique trait?" (( hmmm.... blackjack! XD that could be lots of fun... and I just adore playing Blackjack anyway :3 )) oh, and chloe, you DO realize that this is practically the middle of the day? the sun doesn't go down for a while, any normal fledgling would still be asleep ))

(I like, I like! I do wonder what part he will play with the voltaris...)
Cyra frowned, taking her memory for a spin, "He looks... like this guy I've seen around... one of the older ones - ah... a bad-ass type kid." she said slowly, looking up at Karima, "sound familiar?" she asked, turning round at the voice and waving briefly before turning back to Kari and picking up her glass of water - taking a sip. She smiled briefly at a sudden thought, "One short of a party..." she said quietly, in a sarcastic tone.
