Blackjack rolled his eyes. "I would've been happier had I not been Marked, but there's not much I can do about it. Besides, at the rate I was going, it was going to end up with me either dead or in jail. So I guess this isn't too different: probably going to die for the second time in my life and basically imprisoned in this miniature version of a city." The black-haired sixth former yawned. "At least I'm not sleep-deprived like I used to be. Getting more than two hours of sleep every few days isn't too bad, I suppose." He didn't even consider explaining the "might die, act two" part, mostly because it was pretty irrevelant to being a fledgling vampyre, but also because he had been human then, and he was in a mindset that mostly involving being a fledgling as starting from scratch, starting a new life. It wasn't too bad, in all reality, and life could have certainly turned out worse. Then again, he could have died to begin with, if not for Kaliea and her super-rich stepfather. Ah, money.. the bane of human existence.

Cyra tilted her head, and jerked slightly when there was another growl of thunder, a particulary loud one - she could swear she saw the windows shake. She'd noticed the flash of lighting forking the sky, and the thunder had come about five seconds later - caught her a little off guard, as it were.
She gave an irritated glance at the window, before looking back to Blackjack, "I actually know what you mean about this 'mini-city', as you call it." She said thoughtfully, "I'm hoping to move back to Exeter one day, we'll see how that goes." She added dryly.
Karima may have said that this guy was a prat, well - agreed, at least. 'Prat' had been her words. But either way, Blackjack was for some odd reason pretty interesting to her. Although she could imagine him not feeling the same way - it wouldn't really surprise her if it went that way.

This time Blackjack was visibly startled by the lightning and accompanying thunder. But when the moment passed, he shivered and tore open the small packet of blood, swallowing its entire contents in a single gulp. Just the small packet was enough to calm his nerves, leaving tiny starbursts of confidence in its wake. "Exeter? That's in Europe, right?" He had never really been one for geography, much less the placement of cities, but then, that was mostly because it involved the reading of maps, and Blackjack didn't particularly enjoy reading anything at all, except maybe the newspaper if there was anything interesting going on in the news. But that was only because he hadn't watched real TV in over five years, again because he had been more interested in feeding himself than watching TV. "Eh, whatever suits you, I suppose. Me, I'm not sure what I'll do if I actually survive this year. I'd like to go back to New York, but that's not really an option. Maybe I'll go to Venice, y'know, where the vampyre High Council is."

Cyra ignored the rising chuckle she got from Blackjack's reaction to the thunder and lightning, and pushed it down. She'd giggle later. "Yeah, It's a town in Devon, which is in England. It's nice there, although the weather can be miserable from Autumn through Winter." She said, a little wistful. She had never understood why they'd moved to Rochester. Something about her dad's job. She looked interested when Blackjack considered Venice, "I went there once, it's nice. Lot's of style and culture, if that's your scene." she said easily, with a small smile.
There was another roll of thunder, but it was fainter - and there was a larger interval between it and the lightning. She looked over again, "Huh - looks like it's moving away." she said absently. She knew normally storms didn't last long, they'd dissipate after half an hour or so.

Blackjack rolled his eyes about the weather remark, but waited to answer until she had finished. "Just wait until the snow sets in. The lake effect up here? Total nightmare. It's real bad in these parts of the state, I can see why one of the fourth formers hates the stuff. And as for Venice, well... I don't know. I'm terrible with languages, I failed out of Spanish once--and no, that was not because I only showed up to class once in a blue moon." He snorted. "Well, not quite. After a while I got my bilingual girlfriend to do the homework, though that didn't help the fact that I failed every test put in front of me." He opened the bag of pretzels and popped one in his mouth, enjoying the mingled pretzel salt and the natural saltiness of human blood. "Mm. If you ever start lusting for blood, definitely grab salty foods to go with it. Tastes great." ((well, usually they only last twenty minutes, but you never know, we had a storm a few months ago that lasted two hours xD and in fact, blood does taste good with salty things. I discovered that when I ate Triscuits after having a tooth pulled... yummy. maybe I should've been eating something softer, but oh well. tasted good, even if it hurt a bit))

Cyra laughed dryly once Blackjack had finished, "The Lake Effect... never really got that back in Exeter, I suppose I lived far enough from large bodies of water..." she mused, it seemed more that the Lake Effect happened further up north back in England, but since she had moved to Rochester, she had experienced such a thing one or twice, "I know what you mean though, about the effect up here. Equals Fun Time." She said sarcastically, and gave a very soft, brief laugh. "Sure." Whenever it had been snowing up here, she'd had to hide from Tyler, because that was armed and dangerous. Sure, she enjoyed the occasional snowball fight, but with him it was a snowball slaughter.
She tilted her head then, considering what he'd said about salty food and blood going together well, "And salty foods and blood? I'll keep that in mind." she said with a smile, sounding interested.
She then glanced over to where Karima was, she hadn't forgotten about the girl, but she had been quiet during the conversation. She'd noticed before that Karima didn't really like Blackjack, and had half-expected her to comment at some point during their word exchange. Maybe she'd been distracted, or left the room.
[Hmm - can you see Cyra and Blackjack getting on? It's an interesting thought, to be perfectly honest]

Karima glanced up at this revelation by Blackjack. "That's disgusting, Blackjack. I tried blood at a Dark Daughters meeting once, and it was salty enough with out extra crap." The sixth former rolled his eyes at her. "Go be a priss somewhere else, ghostie." "How 'bout you go be a freak somewhere else?" she shot back, just as skilled as her opponent in this particular game. "Ooh, that really hurt," he answered mockingly. "I think I'm going to go bandage my broken heart back together now." Turning his attention away from the pale-skinned girl and back to Cyra, he popped another pretzel into his mouth and crunched it down to tiny pieces and swallowed. "So. Third former, right? What do you think of the professors?" (( There's definitely space here for some creative plotting xD I can see it now... lol ))

Cyrus raised and eyebrow at the spat between the two fledglings. - Oh the drama. It's almost like Hollyoaks, or something - She reconsidered that though. - Maybe not. That program bores me. - She thought to herself, she had never really caught the craze for Soap operas and jazz like that. "I'll find the plasters." She said very softly and sarcastically.
At the question fired at her, Cyra considered for a moment before speaking - allowing the time to pass by munching on the last of her Ginger Nuts. "Less Apathetic than the norm, I suppose. Haven't really been here long enough, to be perfectly honest." she finally said, shrugging. There a few she liked, though - Like that Professor Levent, he seemed a sweetheart. You never really saw people like that, nowadays. She loved the designs of his tattoo, as well. - Yes, I'm allowed to be shallow sometimes, mind bitches -

Blackjack snorted in response to her answer. " Have you met our resident lunatic, our High Priestess, Alaine?" " If we have a resident lunatic, his name is Blackjack," Karima interjected nastily, taking advantage of every chance she had to jab at him and break his guard down.

Cyra snorted, "Yes, I have. She was the first one I met here - at the gate. Woke her up, it seems." She said dryly, also laughing quietly from Karima's response. - Oh, it's far too early fo to call Blackjack a lunatic... - more words whispered in her mind, laced with the dry humour she knew so well.

" Yep, that sounds like Alaine. She gets notified by Nyx-knows-who every time a local kid gets Marked, and then proceeds to moan about it whenever she has to get up early to greet them." Blackjack snorted with laughter, completely ignoring Karima. " Just wait until you have fencing with her. Craziest. Person. Ever."

"Oh dear." Cyra said, giggling a little - she was trying to imagine it. Which was difficult as all she got was some really nutty stuff tht she found near impossible to decipher into something legible. "You've almost made me look forward to it - so I can see what you mean." she added dryly, releaxing a little back into her normal stature.
"Anyone else I should watch out for?" this was spoken sarcastically, because aside from Blackjack, how dangerous could it be? That was a little reckless side of her coming out, because she was curious to see if there was something dangerous she'd missed.
Like that... thing in her image - but the was just a dream, wasn't it? Maybe. What Karima had been telling her - a ghost talking about something similar - had made her a little uneasy, but oh well. If it was true, then fair enough - it was true. Not that much tat could be done about it.
