Name: Khalida Dysis (Translated as "Immortal" and "Sunset", hence "Immortal Sunset")
Gender: Female
Age: Sixteen, born on August 13th (Friday the 13th)
Pictures: Located here
Icon: Located here
Appearance: Khalida is tall and slightly underweight for her age. Her hair is short and black, with strange blood-red streaks. Her skin is paler than normal, making her large caramel brown eyes stand out. She is never seen without her necklace, a simple silver chain with a thumbtack-sized silver charm in the shape of half of a heart. Another thing she is never seen without are her gloves. Khalida always wears them, long black gloves without fingers. All of her clothes are dark, predominantly black with some white.
Personality: Khalida is seen as depressed, even emo. She doesn't deny it- with her past, she knows she'll never live everything down to herself. This is why she tries her hardest to deny it to others. She refuses to believe her past is anything but a nightmare, a cruel twisting of her worst fears. Khalida is calm and resigned, if not a bit anti-social.
However, if you're lucky enough to gain her respect, and maybe even her heart, you'll find that she is a caring girl, someone willing to throw themselves down for those she loves. If one is lucky enough to understand her, to be able to either sympathize or empathize without truly feeling sorry for her, they will realize that Khalida, despite her tough outer shell, is really just a lonely, confused girl that needs someone to protect her from herself.
Family: N/A (All known relatives are dead)
Orientation: Straight
History: Khalida, born Katherine Winters, lived a mostly average childhood. Her family, not rich nor poor, were roughly middle class. She had a mother, father, and an older sister, as well as many friends- she was arguably the most popular kid in her classes. When she was five, her older sister (who she considered her best friend) became seriously ill. The family became increasingly worried about the children. Katie had become more resigned, and only her sister could break through the icy shield. Hoping to help, Katherine's sister gave her a necklace, a silver friendship necklace- she kept the other half for herself, to represent their sisterly bond. But that night, Katie ran away from home- only days later, her sister passed away. People say they saw Katherine at the funeral, hiding behind the bushes to stay hidden from her parents' view. This being said, they were devastated at the loss of both their daughters. Katie lived on the streets, hiding from searching eyes, until she was eleven years old. It was then that her parents found her, and sent her back to her old life. But by then, it was no longer the life she knew; instead of being popular, she was treated no better than a pest- an unwanted bug, willing to do anything, no matter how drastic, to get attention. She wished every night that things would return to the way they were- either before her sister's death or before her parents found her again. At fifteen she had resorted to delinquent behaviors, much to her parents' dismay. Her friends were those you would find on street corners, pick-pocketing for survival. But everything changed one night- Katherine had been out with her friends, a normal night for her. Having only one drink too many (she stopped herself before she was totally wasted), she went to drive home. On the way, she crashed into someone, the cars crinkling together like aluminum foil.
She woke up in the hospital, with no one but a nurse in the room. At first she was confused- why hadn't her parents come? But then, when the nurse turned away when asked, she knew- it wasn't just a random car she had hit. It had been her parents' car. And only she had survived, out of the three of them. Weighed down by this knowledge, she was all but glad when she was Marked- it gave her a chance to start over, to almost forget about her past. So now, if questioned about anything, she will claim she forgot, or deny it entirely. It's as if she truly is a new person, for better or for worse.

(( Holy geez, I need to stop this over-dramatic stuff. Khalida is a little too in-depth, heh... drama-queen, literally. But her history shapes her personality perfectly, in my opinion. *shrugs* ))
