Really, I think it's easier without canons, so no.

Well, for one thing, the canons already have personalities and ages and everything, so it sort of slows creative flow when everyone's adopting canons. And it just feels weird to me, like plagiarism or something.

And yet they still have lots of room for your own creative twist. For example, if I do end up adding canons, I will let you guys choose first/middle names and appearances for most of them, as well as only giving you a rough idea of how they act. Besides, you don't have to adopt a canon.

Canons?

I think it should be a yes. For one it actually opens new doors for rping. Like my skylar in the sample I posted. He is the reincarnate of Zeus. I had never played a manwhore before. But by taking him on and keeping him to the guidelines and matching him up Zeus I have had so much fun with him. It allowed me to explore and write from a different angle I hadnt done yet.
Plus frankly there are many people in the world that would rather join a site because it has cannons so this may actually bring in more people to rp with instead of the same ten with twenty characters each.
This site has a good idea behind it. With Nyx intervening and all it makes it seem realistic like your actually in the books. You just need to advertise more. Encourge more to join and be friendly. It is only because Nyx intervines that I actually joined this site in the first place so keep it up and be friendly to new members like me.
Thank you for reading my ramblings, ---------Kirby
(P.S. Sorry my Moderator side came out and I couldnt help it)

I've revamped the advertisement and I've been going out and posting my advertisements all over lately :3 Hopefully that helps to pull in more members. :]
And I've also noticed that a lot of people like canons so that they have a base to start from, rather than having to create a character completely from scratch, so that's a bonus too. . .

Yes, I love to do cannons. It has a base and gives me ideas of a new angle to write from. I just love it

I give it a big:
NOOO!!! Okay that was a little bit overreacting...
Why? Because if you're going to add canons more and more people will join... I can almost see everyone staring at me and asking "What's wrong with having more members?" but do you want to need to keep track of a site with more than 100 members and still want to role play? I can ensure you that if this site is going to have canons it will have 100 members in no-time.
I joined this site because it had no canons! It wouldn't be fair if this site would get canons, I mean, the people which want to make original characters would be shoved to the sidelines because of it! I've joined a Twilight forum that had canons, and it had over 300 members, it was so hard to find a place in it... everyone only role played and wanted canons. That's why I left the place and became anti-Twilight. Really.
I say NO to canons.

Trust me, if we got to the point where 100 people were here, I would hide in a corner and never come out again. And I have seen very many sites with a small canon list that were not overwhelmed with members. And yes, that was overreacting xD
I'm anti-Twilight because of the fanbase and movie : they both suck xD I'm hoping that they don't completely murder New Moon, that was my favorite book of the four.
And I would still encourage original characters, of course! I'm not /that/ dumb.
