October finally managed to make it to the forest. Yoki had told her that this was a good spot to think.
October thought about her vision. It was scary. Alaine didn't believe her. Why was she questioning her visions?? It didn't make sense. One of her Nyx-given abilities was being able to see the future.
Sort of. At least Alaine seemed to KIND OF believe her.
Now that she thought about it, this was really not a good place to be when there are most likely creepy flying things lurking in the shadows.
Oh, whatever. She could probably whoop the flying thingies with her wind powers. The wind stirred around her to prove her point.
She heard a twig snap and she whirled around.

Toby grinned sheepishly when October spotted him, knowing that his plan to sneak up behind her and surprise wasn't going to work, now that he'd ruined it. There's always another day, he promised himself silently. "Sooo... what brings you out here?" he asked brightly. "I heard you had another one of those vision-thingies, but I haven't seen you all day."

October nodded. "I had a vision...it was seriously creepy..." She looked up. "I don't really know. You know when you're going somewhere, but you forgot where so you're just walking? That's kinda what happened to me. So now I'm here!"
She didn't really want to tell anyone about the vision. It would have everyone in a serious panic attack.

"Usually, when I forget what I'm doing, I stop and do something else until I remember." Toby smiled, his good mood persisting despite her negative feelings. "So, are you doing anything important later this week?"

October shook her head. "Nah. I think in July I'm going to London with my parents."
October didn't like being British. People always wanted her to read and say stuff because of her "awesome accent."
Accents sucked.

"Are you gonna get an escort, or are you just going to hope there are enough vampyres around?" he inquired curiously. "I know there's a House of Night there, but I wonder if there are a lot of vampyres that hang around the city...?"

October shrugged. "Well, it is Europe, and they're up to here-" she said, measuring up to her eyeballs of "here," "In vamps. But I might get an escort anyway, because there's no way of knowing if all of the vampyres went on holiday off to France."
She sighed. "I can't wait to complete the Change. I won't have to be tethered here and when I go on holiday I won't have a professor following me. Frankly, I think it's a little creepy to have a professor on your tail. But, of course, that's just me."
She ran a hand through her brown hair.
"Goddess, I'm rambling again." she grumbled.

Toby laughed. "Well, for one, the professors really don't care for escorting students. Alaine actually called in some other vamps from around the area- I wonder if they're more fun than professors." He paused, looking thoughtful for a few moments. "It's too bad we both have several years of this before we complete the Change." He didn't add that they could very well end up dead, too- the thought tended to haunt every fledgling in existence.

October nodded. "Ixchel completed the Change the other day. I was a bit jealous."
October wondered if she and Toby would be one of those fledglings who changed in their fifth or late fourth former year. She hoped so.
"Did you ever wonder what your tattoo would be when you completed the Change?" she said. October and her friends had always wondered. October thought she would have pumpkin blossoms or spirals that looked like gusts of wind. Hestia thought she would either have sunbursts or fireworks on hers.
It was mostly a girl thing, worrying about the tattoos. But it wasn't TOO shallow, among other "girl things."
Ixchel's tattoo was pretty. October had always seen a cloudy sort of pattern, but a few people said that they saw music notes in the fuchsia knots that framed Ixchel's face.
((yeesh, sorry I've been procrastinating on my FM rp....))

Toby shrugged, and replied, "I've never really thought about it, no. But now that you mention it, I think mine would be musical, in some form or another." He shifted his weight to his other foot, his expression thoughtful. "I just hope I'm not one of the last fledglings in our year to change, like Ixchel was. That must suck- saying as fledglings either Change at the end of their four years or die. Imagine how nerve-wracking that's gotta be."

October laughed. "Music seems very popular recently. Skye wants her tattoo to be music notes or like, CDs or something." She grinned. "Believe it or not, I think that Skye actually might be even more music-obsessed than you. You've probably never seen her dorm, but there's like a wall filled with every CD known to mankind. No books. No knickknacks. Just CDs, and iTunes gift cards. She has a CD player by her bed, and her computer I think only has like Garage Band and iTunes."
Skye was nuts. She had heard the story about how Skye had told off Blackjack when October was having a vision, and had carried her all the way to the Fencing room. Skye was itty bitty. October was at least a head taller than her.
"You would like her. She's weird, in a sorta good kinda way. If it gives you any idea, she's way shorter than even me, but called Blackjack an asshole or something and dragged me, seizing and yelling prophetic stuff, to Alaine's office, and then realized that Alaine was teaching."

Toby snickered. "I've noticed that probably every two out of three girls here has called Blackjack an asshole or something similar. Then again, it explains the three ex-girlfriends: obviously they got sick of putting up with him." He laughed, and added, "Somehow I can't imagine her room being any worse than mine. You know Travis, right? Have you ever heard him moan about all my crap?"
