Appearance:

Toby is the kind of person that can easily go unnoticed by everyone around him; if he just chills and listens to music, no one will notice him unless he either starts drawing attention to himself or unless they're looking for him. He has slightly darker skin than most of the fledglings and vamps, shadowed brown eyes, and messy dark brown hair. Toby was handsome even as a human; now, as a fledgling turning into a vamp, he is merely higher up on the scale.

Toby often wears a sweater or a hoodie with jeans, and is never seen without his headphones and music. He often wears sneakers, though he will switch to boots the day that snow first falls for the winter, and won't go back to sneakers until the snow melts for the last time.

Personality:

Toby is fairly easy to get along with... if you don't mind dealing with his short temper and violent mood swings. He has a tendency to lean towards violence, especially when he's having a bad day or really, really doesn't like you. Toby gets very irritable when he has to go without his music, and all of his former teachers at Winterhawk quickly learned to ignore the constant presence of his headphones.

For all of his problems, Toby is still a great friend. He would never betray his buddies, and he always tells the truth, though whether he tells the whole thing or not is something else entirely. Probably Toby's worst trait is his immense fear and hatred of snow. He doesn't have a problem with rain, or hail, or even abysmally low temperatures. But Toby utterly detests snow. He will not take any risks when it comes to snow- he wears boots at all time, and avoids it at all costs. After sixteen years of dealing with this, it's no surprise that his parents were totally fine with his being Marked.

History:

Toby had a pretty humdrum life until he was about four. That's when he acquired his hated and fear of snow. His sister, who is seven years older than him, had dug a little cave fort into the massive snowbanks they had that year, and had invited him into it. Then one of the branches from a nearby tree, laden with ice from freezing rain the night before, fell. It didn't fall on the roof of the cave, but was close enough that the for caved in on top of Toby and Jess. Jess, always looking out for herself first, dug herself out, then dug her little brother out. Toby's been terrified of snow ever since, and most definitely has a strong mistrust for caves in general.
