At five feet, four inches, and one hundred seven pounds, Elisabeth Amsel is easy to miss. She is not particularly memorable, rather "common"-looking, and she lacks any obvious unique features. Liese is underweight, but not shockingly so- her ribs would be visible if she were to wear a bikini, but she is only skinny because she simply doesn't eat enough to keep up with her high activity levels. Liese's white skin is a pale shade, but only because she comes from a place with its own personal raincloud. She has pale blue eyes, almost silver in color. Liese has a cat-shaped tattoo (looks like this), far enough below her bellybutton that her jeans cover it, but only just. She usually wears dark gray jeans that are slightly too long for her, her old, muddy sneakers, her favorite black tank top with a low-cut front, and a long, black coat.

Personality:

Liese hasn't always been the quiet and brooding type. Before she was Marked, she was actually quite cheerful, friendly, and overall quite naïve. But time and trials changed that, and that ship has sailed- even at her happiest, Liese is generally rather detached. She's quite independent and stubborn, and highly opinionated. She is not particularly vocal about her beliefs until you insult or mock them, in which case she'll probably tear your own beliefs to shreds just defending her own. She is not particularly friendly or agreeable, and many say it is impossible to get along with her. Many people that talk to her find her unfriendliness and detached demeanor frustrating, and as such, she rarely speaks to the same people twice. Not that she cares. Much.

History:

Elisabeth was the second of four children, and a full five years younger than her older sister, Johanna. Her younger siblings, twins Sofia and Stefan, were born four years after Liese. All her life, Liese grew up the middle child- her older sister was never home, always at one friend's house or another, and Liese was blamed every time Sofia or Stefan cried, even if they were faking it just to get her in trouble. Despite this, she grew up naïve and cheerful, despite having only a few friends at school.

Then she was Marked on her 16th birthday. Her parents were not home that day, her father out of town on business and her mother working overtime at the office, but her siblings all were- Johanna and her then-fiance, Benjamin, and twelve-year-old Sofia and Stefan. Benjamin, whose younger brother had been Marked only a year before, drove Liese to the House of Night in Berlin that day, and dropped her off there. She didn't see him again for two years.

Her parents disowned her when they found out, though whether this was just an overreaction to her being Marked or their religion conflicting with her new promotion to High Priestess in-training, Liese never knew. But she was expelled from her House of Night on her third Christmas on (false) charges that she had been drinking from humans. Unfortunately for her, the full High Priestess did not intervene, and so she was forced to leave.

Liese fled to the States, where she knew her now-married sister and her household lived. Johanna, who wanted to make up for never being around when they were kids, helped to get Liese enrolled at the Rochester HoN. Nobody in town except for Johanna and Benjamin know Liese's story, not even Alaine. But Liese's glad to have a more accepting home, even if it meant giving up her dream of becoming a High Priestess.
