Appearance:

Melanie is Japanese and proud of it. She has smooth, light skin with a hint of beige and large, almond-shaped brown eyes. She has long dark brown hair, which usually looks to be almost black, but in sunlight it becomes a golden-brown color. Melanie has a diminutive figure, standing at 5'2" and slightly underweight at 100 and a half pounds. She favors tank tops and jeans, and is usually seen with eyeliner and pinkish-red lipstick.

Personality:

Perhaps Melanie's most evident trait is her fiery temper and independent attitude. She has an incredibly strong belief in Nyx, and is fiercely loyal to her friends. Melanie loves casual, and can rarely be seen in anything even remotely dressy. She also likes to go barefoot, and if she has to wear shoes, she prefers sneakers. Melanie's three loves in life are her husband, Blake, animals, and her art. She is quite fearless, and quite the daredevil sometimes.

History:

Melanie, the daughter of a Japanese immigrant and an American of Japanese heritage, used to be a complete outcast in society. Her older siblings, Aiko and Kaito, were both far older than she was, Aiko being four years older and Kaito being eight years old, and so they rarely had any interest in her, the baby. As she got older, things changed: people began to give her a fair chance to make a first impression, and her popularity soared. Of course, her instant popularity meant that everything she did spread like wildfire, and she even got a few modeling gigs, thanks to several of the popular girls that recommended her.

Melanie was Marked in June of her freshman year, and so she spent the summer at her local House of Night before starting her year in the third form. She met Blake halfway through that first year, and in her third year, she met her cat, Nathaniel. Melanie Changed first, and she and Blake were married only a week after he Changed.

Melanie went on to become a full-time artist and a part-time model, though she often follows Blake wherever he goes and simply brings her work with her.

Appearance:

Blake, being distinctly Japanese, has smooth, beige skin and deep brown eyes. He has black hair and he stubbornly keeps it in a shaggy chin-length cut, regardless of it's fast growth. He is of a slight build, but finely muscled. He stands at 5'7" and is at a healthy weight, at just over 154 pounds. He prefers to wear his favorite black hoodie and jeans, though he does wear formal clothes at times.

Personality:

One of the reasons that Blake and Melanie get along so well is that he's much quieter than she is. It takes quite a bit to get him angry, but he is quite dangerous even when he isn't mad. Blake is rather passive about his belief in Nyx, compared to his wife's active worship. He is dedicated to Melanie, and would never leave her side willingly.

History:

Blake grew up in a big family: he and his twin brother, Brendan, were their mother's firstborn children, and their younger sister Annika followed two years later. When Blake was five, Alexis was born. Three years later, his parents divorced, and another year passed before his mother remarried, to an older man. This second marriage brought Blake a step-sister, Rebecca, who was four years older than himself. His twin step-brothers, Blaze and Bryan, were born only a month after Blake and Brendan turned eleven.

Blake was Marked on the first of October in his sophomore year of high school. He was chosen by his cat, Chandra, within his first few months as a fledgling, and he met Melanie not long after. They were fast friends, and they married only a week after Blake, the younger, Changed.

Blake went on to become a Son of Erebus, a warrior, though he also entertained his affinity for birds by adopting a hawk and becoming an expert in falconry.
