Name: Ashtaroth “Ash” Morningstar
Gender: Male
Age: Sixteen-years-old. Born – seventeenth of March
Pictures: C L I C K !

Appearance:
Standing at 5’8 in height, Ash isn’t the tallest person that one could expect to come across but he definitely isn’t the shortest either, being taller than most girls and average when it came to his fellow males. Broad shouldered, he is of a slender physique and though he isn’t intimidating muscular, he clearly works out and has well defined arm and chest muscles, as well as a flat stomach, for all his hard work. Before he was marked, Ash had golden sun-kissed flesh from the many years of his life being under blazing sunlight; however, since receiving the blessing of Nyx, his complexion is akin to freshly whipped cream. Flawless and – with the exception for his eyebrows, lashes and the hair on his head – completely free of hair.
Tawny blonde hair falls in wisps and curls to his chin, untidy with a “wind-strewn” appearance, as if he had only just woken up. Ash’s facial structure is long, narrow and equipped with perfectly symmetrical features, from his long perfectly straight nose, to his defined cheekbones. His plump dark lips and other soft features give Ash a slightly feminine appearance, otherwise known as a “pretty boy” image, giving people the impression that he is a kind and gentle soul. However, the storm-grey hues of his eyes, so dark that they appear a startling black under most lighting and are striking against his pale flesh and golden hair, say otherwise. Doubtlessly intelligent, a glacial gleam resonates constantly from dark fathomless depths, chilling all to the core of their beings and making it difficult to hold Ash’s gaze for long, the intensity of his stare hinting painfully towards him being capable of seeing through all falsehoods and into the very being of others. Guarded and distant eyes, almost cruel in their scrutiny, they add a painfully frostiness to the boy’s otherwise glowing physique. However, towards a few certain individuals, Ash’s gaze has been known to thaw.
Generally, Ash’s choice in fashion consists of loose-fitting, concealing and highly casual garments, that aren’t eye-catching or particularly expensive, nor does he put in any effort to maintain his appearance – i.e. he doesn’t iron or mend his clothes. Though these clothes do not hinder Ash’s attractiveness, they seem to be a weak attempt on Ash’s behalf to dull his appealing appearance, or to make him appear less impressive. Ash will often be seen adorning neutral shades, such as black, white and grey, and rarely ever does he garb himself in colours, having a dislike for “bright things”.
Undeniably gorgeous, Ash is the stereotypical breath-taking vampyre hottie. Possessing the highly desired image of a celebrity, Ash looks every inch the ethereal being that he is named after.
Personality:
As his unfaltering gaze hints at, Ash is a highly intelligent individual and if he were still attending the human education system, he would be found attending the Gifted and Talented classes, described by most as a “genius”. New ideas and foreign concepts are easily picked up and understood by the earth-bound Adonis, and his memory is acutely sharp, often recalling learnt information with little difficulty. He can read people well, and doesn’t fall for pretences, nor is he appreciative of liars or people who pretend to be who they are not. Unfortunately, his social skills are less impressive. In fact, they are pretty much non-existent.
To Ash, companionship isn’t essential and he is quite content with being left by himself, in fact he prefers it that way, possessing little patience for those whom he entitles “idiots”. This category covers people who diverge in the private affairs of others that don’t concern them, people who alter their personalities to fit in with others, people who feel the need to put others down for their own self-gratification, people who choose to annoy others for their own amusement or for acknowledgment, people who talk about subjects that they clearly know nothing about, and people who lack the ability to stay quiet period. And, as Ash is intolerant of liars or people who don’t act like their true self, he makes no efforts to disguise his disdain for these “idiots”, causing him to appear cold-hearted or just down-right mean. He is also somewhat shy and socially awkward, having had little experience with socially interacting with people his own age as a child, and becomes easily frustrated and embarrassed when at a loss at how he is supposed to act, or when he feels that he made a mistake. In the end, Ash would rather not deal with the headache, thus choosing to diverge in a book rather than actually speak to anyone.
But though he might lack warmth, Ash isn’t necessarily a bad person. As previously stated, he tends to be a good judge of character and the few friends that he makes he is unwaveringly loyal towards. He might not bend over backwards for these individuals, and he might maintain a short cool attitude in their presence, but he wouldn’t let anyone take advantage or abuse them, nor would he ever doubt them or turn his back. He is also surprisingly level-headed, rarely allowing anything to disturb his tranquil, albeit frosted, mind-set. As such, Ash is a very dependable person and often gives good advice, should he choose to. Surprisingly, though many do not see it at first, this golden-haired boy is notorious for not abiding by rules, at least not any that he sees as being “pointless”. When it comes to the school’s rules (e.g. not drinking human blood, not leaving the school with his mark visible, etc) Ash will often go along with them, but other less formal rules he will not hesitate to disregard (e.g. fighting with fellow students, turning up for class late, etc). His attitude will often imply that he cares little for authority, and there might be a little bit of truth in this statement due to his family history, but mostly Ash wishes not to be controlled.
Though temperamental, when angered it isn’t a fiery reaction that Ash gives forth but more an icy treatment where he will generally respond with a cutting put-down or, if particularly enraged, he will completely ignore the existence of that individual/s. Rarely would he respond to actual physical violence. An intellectual, Ash still has his own creative side which he demonstrates through writing in the art of poetry, short stories, novels and even sonnets, having a way with words that few vampires possess. This is a good thing, as Ash’s abilities at art; music and even acting are quite poor. He is also skilled at fencing and basic martial arts, being quick of foot and observant. Unfortunately, due to his uneasiness around horses, equestrian happens to be the only class that Ash suffers in and which he is hesitant to attend. Besides horses, Ash fears also include a mild fear of heights and being afraid of needles.
Family:
Orientation: Bi-sexual (often switches preference without warning)
History:
Ash wasn’t born as “Ashtaroth Morningstar”. He was in fact born as Alexander Scott, the older twin brother of Prudence Scott by a scant hour on the seventeenth of March, also known as St. Patrick’s Day, in Sydney Australia – the native country of his parents, Marcus and Janice Scott. Though it was clear even back then that Ash wasn’t your average child, his childhood had been a happy one.
Though his father was a busy man due to owning his own steadily rising company, both of his parents dearly loved each other and their twins, showering them in love and affection and keeping their household a happy and pleasant place to live. Though it was clear that Ash was the more academically and physically advanced of their children, and Prudence the more sociable and carefree child, they never played favouritisms and encouraged their children in every stage of their lives. Both Ash and Prudence were close, treating each other like best friends throughout their primary and middle school years. Unfortunately, these days could not last.
By the time that Ash was ten cracks had begun to show in his happy family life. The schedule of his father’s work was constantly keeping his father away from home and tension and absence was starting to affect the relationship between his parents, which affected the way that his mother treated him. Slowly, her attitude began to change in that it was easier for her to lose her temper, particularly over the smallest of things, which she often directed upon Prudence, whilst constantly complimenting her “genius son”. Something that neither Prudence nor Ash appreciated. Both realizing this, Ash’s parents made a desperate attempt to save their relationship by adding a new child into their life, and when Ash was nearing his twelfth birthday Billie Scott was born. Unfortunately, her existence failed to repair the damages that occurred within Marcus and Janice’s marriage and when an affair was uncovered it crumbled entirely. Deciding upon a separation, Janice took her three children and left her husband for America, moving to the town close to Rochester.
At this stage, Ash had entered his teenage years and could not hide behind the ignorance of a child in an effort to ignore the break-down of his parents’ marriage or the change that occurred within his mother. In her eyes, Ash could do no wrong. He excelled academically, was decent at sports and was attractive for a boy his age, so it didn’t matter to her that he had absolutely no friends. For his mother’s adoration of him and her cold unsatisfied treatment of his sister wedged a gap between the once inseparable twin siblings, causing for the two to often fight amongst each other and for Prudence to avoid her older brother when necessary. And Billie was much too young for Ash to wish to spend all of his available time with her. To make things worse, his mother had quickly become an avid supporter of the local church of the People of Faith, which only further warped her personality and made her even more unbearable in Ash’s eyes. For there were many values upheld by his branch of religion that Ash could not agree with, and which his mother expected him to. He began to rebel, though his unruly behaviour was instantly dismissed by his doting mother.
Soon after Ash’s sixteenth birthday, he fell suddenly ill with a strange cold that he chose to shrug off as the common cold, though it left him feeling miserable and lethargic for almost a week. Just as he believed that he was coming, a Tracker approached Ash whilst he was coming home from school and marked him, beginning the boy’s change from being human to becoming a vampyre. Something which his mother did not take to, immediately seeing her “genius son” in a much darker life. No matter what Ash said, Janice was convinced that her son was being condemned to a hellish existence and was adamant that the church was the only cure for him, refusing to even listen to what Ash’s father had to say on the subject. Not even seeming to care that Ash would die if he didn’t leave for the House of Night immediately. Fed up and completely disgusted by his mother, Ash snuck away at the first chance that was available to him, not saying a word to anyone and with little interest in if he saw his family again.
Upon arriving at the House of Night, he chose to abandon the name of “Alexander Scott”, wishing to be rid of the past that he hated, though he could not think of a name to replace it at first. After much contemplation, he decided to strike a final blow against his mother and her warped religious beliefs, taking the names of fallen angels that he recalled from the texts of its holy book. “Ashtaroth” after one of the Princes of Hell, the arch-demon of gluttony, and “Morningstar” after the devil himself – names that Ash considered were perfectly good vampyre names. And which he must have made a good choice, as, though only a Third-Former, he already received a blessing from his goddess Nyx in the form of an affinity.
Grade/Occupation: Third Former (Freshman)
